Alcoholized Viennese threatens to kill friend

The Vienna police had to be called out in the Favoriten district on Saturday because a 29-year-old man had threatened to kill a friend over the phone. He then damaged his mother's furniture with a knife. The man was reported to the police and the weapon was confiscated.

For reasons that are still unclear - but he had 1.6 per mille alcohol in his blood - the 29-year-old Austrian called his friend (24) and threatened to kill him with the knife. Completely enraged, he then used a knife to destroy furnishings in his 50-year-old mother's apartment and ran off with the weapon.

Charged with making a dangerous threat
Police officers arrested him not far from the apartment and seized the knife. He was issued with a temporary weapons ban and a ban on entering and approaching his mother and her apartment. He was also charged with making a dangerous threat.
