Graz Casemate Stage
A summer on the mountain with musical highlights
The Schloßbergbühne Kasematten is once again home to all genres this year. The traditional "Summer on the Mountain" has more than 40 events on the program, spread over 52 days, including many well-known names.
Opera, classical music, musicals and cabaret, but also pop and rock, world music, electronic sounds and cabaret make up the wild mix of the summer program at the venues in Graz. Managing Director Bernhard Rinner has enlisted the help of Austria's pop superstar JOSH, who will be creating a great atmosphere on July 26 and 27.
But there are even more big names waiting: Nick Mason can be seen on July 16, Peter Cornelius on September 6 and rock icon Kim Gordon on June 28. Fans of Irish punk rock music will get their money's worth with Flogging Molly on August 24, while singer-songwriter Faber on August 31 is the perfect choice for those who prefer a quieter sound.
Musical stars and classical music greats
Mark Seibert, Maja Hakvoort, Lukas Perman and Patricia Meeden will delight musical lovers on June 8, Markus Schirmer and Friends will bring together the sounds of the Orient and the Occident on July 4 and the Janoska Ensemble will offer new musical experiences with Thomas Hampson on August 28.
Cabaret fans won't miss out either: Michael Mittermeier (May 31), Barbara Balldini (June 13), Alex Kristan (June 23) and Viktor Gernot with Thomas Stipsits (July 2 and 3) will put a strain on the laugh muscles.
And of course there is "The Ring in one evening (almost) without words" on August 18 and 20, in which the stars from Bayreuth will perform Richard Wagner's Ring in a special Graz version in one evening.
