Passer-by raised the alarm
78-year-old slept through fire in her four-wheeler
Listen who's banging! In this case, it was the fire department that woke a 78-year-old woman from her sleep early on Sunday morning in Waldneukirchen, Upper Austria. A passer-by had raised the alarm when he noticed a fire in the square farmhouse.
The fire broke out in the farmhouse in the early hours of the morning. At around 5.30 a.m., a road user noticed a fire at the square farm in Waldneukirchen. He informed the fire department. They began fighting the fire through a window and had to break down the front door to search for people in the building, which was obviously occupied.
Farmer's wife was in the bedroom
The 78-year-old homeowner was in her bedroom on the second floor of the house. She had not yet noticed the fire. She told the emergency services that she had stoked up the open fire in the "fireplace room" the day before. After the fire had gone out around midnight, she had left the room.
The fireplace room was badly damaged by the fire. Fortunately, no one was injured.
