Two missions at once
Woman (19) trapped in car collision in Strobl
The Strobl volunteer fire department had to respond to two accidents on the Wolfgangsee Bundesstraße yesterday, Tuesday. While in the early afternoon it was only a matter of clearing up, the firefighters had to rescue a seriously injured person in the late afternoon.
At around 6 p.m., an Upper Austrian woman (19) wanted to turn left from a petrol station in Strobl onto the Wolfgangsee Bundesstraße (B158). However, she overlooked the car of a 27-year-old Hungarian woman who was traveling in the direction of Salzburg. This resulted in a collision, which caused both vehicles to be thrown into the oncoming lane. The 19-year-old was trapped and had to be rescued by the Strobl volunteer fire department.
She suffered injuries of indeterminate severity and was taken to Bad Ischl Hospital after initial treatment by an emergency medical team. Her sister and the 27-year-old Hungarian woman were slightly injured in the collision. A breathalyzer test carried out on the drivers involved was negative.
Occupants already freed
The Strobl fire department had to attend another collision in the afternoon. However, when the firefighters arrived, the occupants of the two cars, which had also collided on Wolfgangsee Straße, had already been freed from their vehicles. The Strobl fire department only had to secure the scene of the accident and carry out clean-up work.
