Motorcycle ride ends with serious injuries

Two motorcyclists had to be taken to hospital with serious injuries after accidents. In Kirchschlag, a 40-year-old woman crashed into a traffic sign early on Monday morning. And in Steinerkirchen, a local man skidded off on a right-hand bend and repeatedly lost consciousness.

A 40-year-old woman from Reichenthal was riding her motorcycle on the B126 towards Linz at around 5.50 a.m. on Monday. According to witnesses, the woman came so far to the left during an overtaking maneuver in the Wildberg area, municipality of Kirchschlag near Linz, that she touched the curb. Her motorcycle then skidded and the rider hit a traffic sign. Following drivers immediately provided first aid and set the rescue chain in motion. The 40-year-old was seriously injured and taken to the accident hospital in Linz after receiving first aid.

First aid provided
A 38-year-old from Steinerkirchen was driving his moped from Reuharting towards Steinerkirchen at around 6.15 p.m. on Sunday. In the Sölling area, in the municipality of Steinerkirchen, the man crashed his moped in a right-hand bend for as yet unexplained reasons. People following behind immediately called the ambulance and provided first aid. The 38-year-old was seriously injured and repeatedly lost consciousness. After first aid, he was flown to the Salzkammergut Klinikum Vöcklabruck by the "Martin 3" rescue helicopter.
