Construction site flooded after rainfall

The flood protection work in St. Martin near Rosegg has to take an unplanned break: This is because the heavy rainfall has led to flooding.

Easter Monday caused heavy rainfall in the Upper Carinthian region - the Gail even reached the mark for a five-year flood. The Drau also carried a lot of water due to the rain and therefore the floodgates at the power station in Rosegg had to be opened.

By opening the sluices, masses of water were diverted into the Drau loop. However, as flood protection work is currently being carried out here, the construction site was flooded. The work is at a standstill until the water has drained away.
