82-year-old’s car caught fire while driving

That must have been a scare: The car of an 82-year-old man from Braunau burst into flames while he was driving on Monday evening. 15 firefighters from the Handenberg volunteer fire department were called out to extinguish the fire. The driver of the car was lucky in the incident.

It is not yet clear why the car suddenly started to burn on the Schöfweg Bezirksstraße in Handenberg on Monday evening. An 82-year-old man from Braunau was at the wheel. He was uninjured in the incident.

Total loss of the car
When the police patrol arrived on the scene at around 6.20 pm, the fire had already been extinguished. 15 firefighters from the Handenberg volunteer fire department had quickly subdued the flames. The car was a total loss.
