Vending machine blown up: 14-year-old caught

On Sunday night, neighbors in Vienna-Liesing alerted the police after hearing a loud explosion. A 14-year-old had previously blown up a cigarette vending machine.

The suspect and two other unknown persons had blown up the vending machine in Anton-Baumgartner-Straße with firecrackers to get cigarettes. Shortly afterwards, they emptied the vending machine and fled.

However, the police were able to recognize the 14-year-old on a video from the store's surveillance camera. He did not confess. He was subsequently released.

Investigations into the other two are still ongoing. Two display windows were also damaged by the force of the explosion.
