352 times fun and adventure in the wide country
The Lower Austria Card offers 21 new excursion destinations in the wide region at the start of the season. With an increase of 33 percent, we can look back on the most successful season ever.
There is a lot to discover in the wide country. With 21 new destinations at the start of the excursion season this year, there is even more to discover. Because with the Lower Austria Card, you can now also visit the Aggstein castle ruins, the Hochrieß wildlife park or the Königsberg bike park, the Wilhelmsburg crockery museum or Jumpin Warrior. Last year, around 200,000 Lower Austrian Card holders completed 1.45 million excursions. "With an increase of 33 percent, this was the most successful season to date," explains Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner.
With 352 excursion destinations, there is something for everyone. With 55,000 NÖ-Cards already sold, the company is already looking towards record results at the start of the season, says Managing Director Klemens Wögerer. From April 1, adults pay 74 euros (69 euros on renewal), young people 39 euros (36 euros on renewal) - so nothing stands in the way of a spring full of excursions. The card pays for itself from two to three visits, Lower Austria Card holders make an average of seven to eight excursions.
Overnight stays are also on the rise
Adventure worlds and nature parks are the most popular. From day tourists to overnight guests to vacationers - that is the motto. The Lower Austria Card made a significant contribution to the tourism strategy in 2023 with 7.3 million overnight stays (an increase of eleven percent).
