Cvetko ahead of the final: “Only the Italians can do that!”
Pure excitement! That's what Sunday's final round of the Bundesliga promises. Because then, after the 22nd matchday, the points will be shared and it will finally be clear who can fight it out at the top of the championship group.
It's never been this dramatic: Hartberg only made it into the top six with 29 points in 2020, otherwise 30 points were always enough. This time, 33 points could even be too few - the current four-way battle for three places leaves nobody cold.
Austria Vienna sold out
Because millions - at least for the supposed big clubs Rapid and Austria - are at stake. The violet Generali-Arena is already sold out for Sunday's showdown against Tirol. Klagenfurt will be a long way from that, but coach Peter Pacult's team would have deserved a worthy crowd for the final showdown against Rapid, who are now without Burgstaller, Grüll, Hedl, Schick and Max Hofmann (see link below).

"No Austrian team can do that"
The constellation for the Carinthian "Violets" and Rapid on Sunday is certainly quite curious: In the EM Arena, a draw is enough for both Pacult and the Hütteldorfer to secure the top 6. "No Austrian team can play to X - only the Italians can do that. It's in their blood," said Klagenfurt midfielder Christopher Cvetko.
The disgrace of Gijon
Coach Pacult takes a similar view, but alludes to Austria's 1-0 defeat to Germany at the 1982 World Cup in Gijon: "Two nations once proved that you can play for a result, but that was a long time ago. That no longer works in today's soccer."
