Two young boys injured with knives during a fight

An argument between three young men escalated early on Saturday morning in Altmünster. A 19-year-old from Gmunden is said to have attacked his two opponents with a knife during the argument. He stabbed a 21-year-old twice in the shoulder and the seriously injured man had to be operated on in hospital. A 20-year-old was also wounded.

The attack happened at around 1.55 a.m. on Saturday in the idyllic Traunsee community of Altmünster. The conflict between the three young lads had suddenly got out of hand. The 19-year-old from Gmunden is said to have lost it during the argument and pulled out a knife.

He then allegedly attacked the 21-year-old Regauer with it and stabbed him twice. The victim suffered two gaping wounds to his left shoulder.

25-centimeter wound
The 19-year-old is also said to have attacked the second opponent, a 20-year-old from Kirchham near Vorchdorf. The latter suffered a cut of around 25 centimeters in the abdominal area. The attacker then fled the scene, but was arrested by the police about two hours later.

Both victims had to be taken to hospital. The man from Regau underwent emergency surgery during the night and could not be questioned for the time being.

The exact reasons behind the bloody fight are still being investigated by the police, but the crime may have had something to do with drugs.
