Weapon carried openly
“Deputy sheriff” caused a stir in Vorarlberg
An extremely obscure incident occurred on Monday evening in Göfis (Vorarlberg). The Cobra had to be deployed there because a 44-year-old man was openly carrying a weapon and had made quite an impression on a 25-year-old man.
In Göfis, people now seem to carry their firearms openly: Early Monday evening at shortly before 6 p.m., a 26-year-old woman and her 25-year-old ex-husband met at an agreed location to hand over their children. So far, so unspectacular.
Had handgun with him
But suddenly another man turned up - and he was clearly carrying a handgun. As the 25-year-old felt threatened by this unusual appearance, he called the police.
Many unanswered questions
As a result, several patrols and members of the Cobra task force were deployed. The officers then took the "deputy sheriff" to the police station to clarify the facts of the case. There it was at least established that the 44-year-old was authorized to carry a weapon.
Apart from that, there are still many unanswered questions: Is the man in a relationship with the two ex-spouses? What did he want to achieve with his appearance? Was there a specific threat? According to the police, all of this is the subject of the ongoing investigation.
