Woman injured in fall on braking streetcar

A ride on the streetcar in Innsbruck ended in hospital for a 49-year-old public transport user on Wednesday. The woman fell and injured herself when the streetcar had to brake due to a car pulling out of a parking space.

At around 2.40 pm, the driver of the streetcar was driving out of the city on Defreggerstraße. At number 12, the man noticed a car that was apparently about to pull out. As the man was not sure whether the person in the car had noticed the streetcar, he stopped.

During the braking maneuver, a 49-year-old female passenger fell off the streetcar. The woman was injured and had to be taken to Innsbruck Hospital by the ambulance service. 

Police are looking for the driver of the car
In order to clarify the facts of the case, the police have launched an appeal for witnesses. The driver of the car is asked to contact the Innsbruck traffic inspection (059133 7591).
