Physiotherapist brutally stabbed in garage

A woman was brutally stabbed and seriously injured in the head and neck area in Bolzano on Wednesday night. The attack took place in the garage of her home. The victim is said to be a physiotherapist originally from Austria. 

According to regional media, the 61-year-old woman was attacked by a man in the garage of her home during the night. A neighbor found her unconscious and lying in a pool of blood. 

Victim is in intensive care
The Austrian woman is now in intensive care in Bolzano hospital. According to the "Neue Südtiroler Tageszeitung", her life is not in danger. She was seriously injured in the head and neck by the attacker. In addition, the physiotherapist's grandchildren are said to have been staying in the apartment at the time of the attack - but they were unaware of the violence. 

Deliberately lured into an ambush
The investigation is already in full swing in Bolzano. A motive for the crime in the family environment cannot be ruled out. It is also suspected that she was deliberately lured into an ambush. The perpetrator is said to have manipulated the power supply to the 61-year-old's condominium beforehand. According to media reports, her daughter's ex-partner is under suspicion.
