No beer for two: the true face

What was it like when you met your partner? That's when you usually pull yourself together and present your best side. You woo the person whose favor you are courting. The true face is usually only revealed after some delay ...

Of course, negotiations to form a political coalition government should not necessarily be measured by flirting standards. A political partnership is not a love affair. But at least in the initial and introductory phase, presenting oneself in a benevolent manner, open to the other person - this is also common practice in business and working relationships as well as in building friendships.

The initiation of the blue-black relationship is completely different. The two chief negotiators, who - not without reason - have been extremely reserved towards each other for years, have met several times in the space of a month, but reportedly only briefly. Small talk? Friendly words? Even a beer for two? No!

They get down to business. Without beating around the bush. Even if you may ask yourself whether the usual Austrian approach of "straight to the point" would not lead to quicker and better results.
