Courageous neighbor prevents house fire

A fire broke out on the terrace of a residential building in the Gnigl district of Salzburg early on Saturday morning. Garden utensils caught fire for unknown reasons.

A neighbor of the affected residential unit noticed the fire as the heat caused window panes to break with a loud noise.

Another neighbor immediately rushed to help and began to fight the fire with three fire extinguishers. With success! The fire was contained and did not spread to other apartments.

The Salzburg professional fire department took over the extinguishing work. Parts of the house facade and some garden tools were damaged. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
