Crash in Lower Austria: one dead and three seriously injured

A 39-year-old man died in a car collision in St. Egyden am Steinfeld (district of Neunkirchen) on Thursday evening. Three people between the ages of 30 and 61 were seriously injured and transported to nearby hospitals, reported the Lower Austria Provincial Police Directorate on Friday.

The 39-year-old driver collided with an oncoming car at around 6.15 pm. The driver of the car - a 60-year-old - was injured in the crash, as were the two female passengers aged 30 and 61.

All four people involved in the accident were trapped in their respective vehicles and had to be freed by members of the fire department. Unfortunately, all help came too late for the 39-year-old, and the three seriously injured people were taken to hospital. Two emergency helicopters were deployed.
