Crash! Car only came to a standstill after 40 meters

A 65-year-old man wanted to turn into a parking lot with his car on the B158 near St. Gilgen (Salzburg) on Sunday. At the same time, a driver (25) started an overtaking maneuver with his car - a collision could no longer be avoided. 

The 65-year-old's car was thrown more than 40 meters away from the scene of the accident by the force of the impact and only came to a standstill in an adjacent meadow. The second car involved in the accident left the road and skidded more than 60 meters along a guardrail. 

First responders rescued the 65-year-old from his car. The Red Cross took the injured man to Salzburg Accident Hospital. The 25-year-old remained uninjured.
