Viennese man (40) stabs several guests in a pub

On Saturday night, several guests in a pub in Vienna-Margareten were injured, some of them seriously, after a 40-year-old man attacked them with a knife.

Witnesses immediately alerted the police when the man suddenly pulled out a knife in the middle of the bar and stabbed a total of three patrons. According to the police, an argument between the people involved had escalated beforehand. Some of the victims suffered serious stab wounds and cuts in the knife attack. However, there is said to be no danger to life.

Suspect arrested
When the suspect then fled, the officers managed to arrest him a short time later in the Wiedner Gürtel area. The Vienna Emergency Medical Services provided emergency medical care to the victims and the suspect, who was also injured, and took them to hospital.

According to a witness, the suspect was probably heavily intoxicated. Investigations and further questioning into the case are ongoing.
