During apartment eviction
Mega cannabis plantation discovered in the middle of Vienna
An extraordinary discovery was made by a bailiff in Vienna-Alsergrund on Friday: a huge cannabis plantation with 1041 plants was found in an apartment. The plants had already dried out and were unusable. However, the perpetrators are still being sought.
The apartment in Liechtensteinstraße was supposed to have been vacated. But then the bailiff was surprised by the huge, professionally constructed plantation.
The police officers who first intervened immediately informed the Vienna State Office of Criminal Investigation, which took up the investigation.
Perpetrators still on the run
A total of 1041 cannabis plants were found - but they had already dried out. "The unknown perpetrators also bypassed the apartment's electricity meter and laid temporary power lines in the apartment to operate the cannabis cultivation," police spokesman Philipp Haßlinger announced on Sunday.
The police are investigating at full speed, but there is still no trace of the perpetrators.
