Police looking for witnesses

German (36) run over by golf cart in front of restaurant

Wild scenes may have taken place in front of a Tyrolean pub in Ötztal-Bahnhof (Imst district) on Saturday night. As yet unknown perpetrators drove a golf cart and ran over a German man (36) and also touched a local woman (19). The police are now looking for witnesses.

The wild spectacle is believed to have started at around 1.10 a.m. on Saturday. There, previously unknown perpetrators put a golf cart into operation without authorization in the parking lot of an event site in Ötztal-Bahnhof. They drove the electric vehicle in circles and a little later into a group of people standing in front of a bar.

Man run over, woman touched
They hit a 36-year-old German man and ran him over. A 19-year-old local woman was also hit. Both were taken to hospital in Zams by the ambulance service with serious injuries.

The strangers - according to the police, there were four to five of them - then fled in a car. The police are now asking witnesses to the incident to come forward.
