The well-known influencer Maxim Lyutyi (44) has been sentenced to eight years in prison by a Russian court. He had left his one-month-old son to starve to death in agony.

Maxim Lyutyi planned to raise a child who would live exclusively on sunlight. He is also said to have regularly doused the baby with ice-cold water, believing that this would give the boy strength.

Lyutyi, who presented himself online as a vegan raw food influencer, is said to have constantly tried to stop his partner from breastfeeding so that the baby could only absorb sunlight.

Influencer member of a cult?
Neighbors suspected that the 44-year-old was a member of a cult. He is said to have propagated a radical raw food diet - at least for his followers and in front of the camera.

In the end, his son Kosmos weighed just 1.3 kilograms and died on March 8, 2023 on his way to hospital as a result of severe malnutrition. In the end, the parents did consider getting the child medical help. 

Maxim has to serve an eight-year prison sentence, while his partner and mother of the child received a two-year non-custodial sentence and has to do "educational work". The reason: she did not rebel and is accused of failing to provide assistance.
