Burglars wore underpants on their heads during the crime

Police officers in neighboring Bad Reichenhall (Bavaria) were astonished late on Friday evening. The officers caught two burglars in the act. Remarkable: the young men were wearing their own underpants on their heads during the burglary.

At around 10.30 p.m. on Friday evening, a witness reported to the police in the neighboring Bavarian town of Bad Reichenhall that a store at the train station had just been broken into. The caller could still see the perpetrators running away and described the direction of escape.

Police officers were in the vicinity of the crime scene at the time. They were able to immediately search for the fleeing perpetrators. The perpetrators were quickly apprehended after a short escape through private properties and gardens. During the subsequent search, most of the loot was found.

The suspects were an 18-year-old and a 17-year-old from Berchtesgadener Land. What was particularly bizarre, however, was that the two perpetrators had pulled their own underpants over their heads as a mask during the crime.

The damage caused is likely to be in the mid four-figure range - the perpetrators used brute force to break into the store via a sliding glass door. One of the perpetrators carried a knife during the crime, but according to the investigations so far, he did not use it. The perpetrators are now being investigated for a "particularly serious case of theft with weapons".

After the investigation, the 17-year-old was handed over to his parents in the morning hours. The 18-year-old was brought before the investigating judge on Saturday at the request of the public prosecutor's office. An arrest warrant was issued.
