20th time Inclusia
Learning to appreciate the diversity of people
For the 20th time, Klagenfurt schoolchildren and people with disabilities come together to appreciate diversity as a treasure; an enriching experience for everyone.
"You get money, you can collect rent," you hear at the DKT table and Riccardo laughs with joy - not because of the play money, but because new friends are playing with him.
"I'm Christopher, my sister's children call me Onki," explains a client from the AVS day workshop in Sittersdorf to the pupils in the 3e class at the Ingeborg Bachmann Grammar School in Klagenfurt, with whom he is knotting a bracelet made of colorful beads.
"We've come up with stations for our guests," explains Jonas: they can play Mikado, DKT and more, paint coffee cups, make jewelry, paint on canvas... "And each of us has brought something for the buffet."

"Once we organized a disco for our guests," remember Helene, Valentina and Jesko, who are graduating this year. "The very first time I was a bit scared of contact - but only for two minutes," Jesko remembers.
And breaking down these insecurities and prejudices is one of the aims of "Inclusia". "I had never had anything to do with people with disabilities, but then I heard an inner voice. I had to do something like this," recalls Dieter Klammer from Reifnitz, who is organizing the unique event for the 20th time this year. 19 school classes in Klagenfurt and 220 adults with disabilities and their supervisors from Carinthia, Slovenia, Italy, Styria... are taking part. For two days, the clients of care facilities are in the schools; they are still called guests, but will soon be friends.
