Girlfriend smeared with dog excrement

A 34-year-old Hungarian is currently facing cruel abuse allegations at the Feldkirch Regional Court. The accounts of his ex-girlfriend are shocking.  

Even for long-time court reporters, the victim's statements are almost unbearable. During the trial on Thursday, the 35-year-old Hungarian woman tearfully described the time she spent together with the accused. "Once he grabbed me by the scruff of the neck and hit my head on the tabletop. Then he grabbed me by the arm and threw me to the floor. Another time he was so aggressive that he smeared dog excrement on my face and clothes."

Her ex-boyfriend's goal was always to humiliate her. That's why she cried a lot at the time. During the four-year relationship, there were repeated arguments between the couple because of the defendant's drug stories - and the arguments often escalated into brute force: "But it wasn't his beatings that were the worst, it was the psychological cruelty. I still believe to this day that I'm worth nothing."

"I always blamed myself"
When asked by the judge why she still wanted to move into an apartment in Bregenzerwald with her abuser, the woman replied: "He could be nice. So I forgave him again and again and ended up blaming myself. He often said: Come on, let's leave everything behind and start all over again." It was only when the woman found out that the 34-year-old brute was also cheating on her that she pressed charges.

The accused, for his part, denies all the allegations - for now. The trial was adjourned until May, when further witnesses are to be heard.
