That's it! For the first time in 53 years, Stockenboi no longer has a competitive team. In the winter break, the team was withdrawn from the 1st B - no young talent, and high costs too! "Every local who can run and shoot a bit wants a lot of money - up to 5000 euros a year. That's crazy, we didn't want to be part of it any more," said an annoyed Dietmar Deticek, whose club also relied on legionnaires. "If I bring three players from Slovenia and they form a carpool, it's cheaper."

Poor attitude of the players
The attitude of the players was the decisive factor in their withdrawal from the 1st division B. "We knew that we had a small squad. But then only three or four players came to training after the winter break. That makes no sense," sighed chairman Christoph Hatheier. That's why coach Manfred Salentinig threw in the towel shortly before the start of spring. "He tried hard until the end. I can't blame him. The players' attitude was simply poor. I'm also extremely sorry for the other clubs, who now have one less home game," said Hatheier.

Pool with Rothenthurn?
How should things continue in Stockenboi? "We have good contact with Rothenthurn. Maybe we'll form a playing partnership," hopes Hatheier. In that case, they would compete with Rothenthurn's second team in the 2nd division. However, things could only become really concrete after the annual general meeting in June.
