Harry Blümel, funeral speaker and singer, assigned 53 different species of trees and shrubs in the "Forest of Eternity" in Klein-Engersdorf near Bisamberg to the signs of the zodiac.

"If you spend a lot of time in the forest, you notice the different activities of the plants at different times," explains Harry Blümel. Buds, leaves, flowers and fruits form at completely different times of the year, depending on the plant species. "This makes it possible to assign trees and shrubs to the signs of the zodiac, which have fascinated many people around the world for thousands of years," explains Blümel, who has now also created a tree horoscope through his work as a funeral speaker in the "Forests of Eternity".

Unlike with humans and animals, the beginning of life is usually unknown with plants. However, if you observe them closely, you will notice at what point in time the plants are conspicuously active.

• Aries (March 21 to April 20): Hazelnut, maple, (copper) beech, plane tree, laburnum
• Taurus (April 21 to May 21): Poplar, silver poplar, hornbeam, willow, viburnum
• Gemini (May 22 to June 21): Lime, birch, fig, mahonia
• Cancer (June 22 to July 22): Apple, cherry, chestnut, spirea
• Leo (July 23 to August 23): Robinia (false acacia), elm, pear, blueberry
• Virgo (August 24 to September 23): Oak, olive willow, barberry, red honeysuckle
• Libra (September 24 to October 23): Mountain ash, larch, hackberry, cedar, blackthorn
• Scorpio (October 24 to November 22): Walnut tree, weeping willow, juniper, elderberry, coneflower
• Sagittarius (November 23 to December 21): Ash, service tree, cherry laurel, mistletoe
• Capricorn (December 22 to January 20): fir, dog rose, holly, privet

If you opt for a natural burial during your lifetime and a place in the Forest of Eternity, you can also choose the tree that corresponds to the respective sign of the zodiac, for example. "In the Forest of Eternity, every personality will find their perfect tree," Elisabeth Zadrobilek, the pioneer of natural burial in Austria, is convinced.

The deceased find peace in the midst of nature
Natural burials are becoming increasingly popular in Austria. With tree burial, the ashes of the deceased are buried in a biological urn in the root zone of the tree of choice. The grave is cared for entirely by nature.
