At the age of 35! Longtime NFL player passes away
Former professional football player Vontae Davis has died at the age of 35. This was confirmed by the police, who found him dead in his apartment following an emergency call. Nothing is yet known about the circumstances of his death.
The long-time NFL cornerback was found in his apartment in the US state of Florida on Monday. An emergency call had been made earlier. When the police finally arrived, they were only able to determine that the 35-year-old was dead.
Nothing is yet known about the circumstances. According to the police, however, there are no indications of foul play. "It is with a heavy heart that we learned of the death of Vontae Davis today. We share our deepest sympathies with his family and friends in these difficult times," his former team, the Miami Dolphins, posted on social media.
Davis was selected by the Florida team in the 2009 draft. He went on to play for the Indianapolis Colts and the Buffalo Bills. He ended his career in spectacular fashion in 2018. He announced his immediate retirement at half-time of his Bills' game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
