A mother makes serious accusations after an incident with a dog in Weerberg, Tyrol. She called the police and the public prosecutor's office is now investigating attempted assault. The accused farmer denies the incident, but has already attracted attention in the past ...
"My boy is still intimidated and hardly dared to leave the house at first," says the mother from Zillertal.
She was recently visiting relatives in Weerberg with her eight-year-old son. The child was on a gravel road that runs past the neighboring farm. "He was playing with the stones there," says the local woman.
Boy claims to have heard command to dog
Then things escalated: the old farmer suddenly appeared, started shouting and is said to have set his border collie mix on the eight-year-old. With the command "On him!", as the child later described. "Luckily he wasn't hurt, the dog only caught him by the pants," said the mother.

Fortunately, the older sister intervened
Seconds later, the boy's older sister (24) ran over and bravely intervened. "Son and daughter then came to me all upset and cried," the Zillertal woman describes the excitement.
She then reported the incident to the Schwaz police. "We forwarded the facts of the case to the public prosecutor's office in Innsbruck. It's a case of attempted bodily harm," said an officer when asked by the Krone.
Police confirm another earlier incident
The old farmer in question is said to be no stranger to similar cases. At least one incident has been reported to the police, confirmed the Schwaz police station. "It involved my nephew, so also the farmer's neighbors. He suffered a wound to his bottom at the time," the mother describes.
Farmer: "No order to attack the dog"
She accuses the farmer of saying that the dog was "allowed to do anything" to guard the house and farm. The farmer defended himself when questioned by the police: the boy had also thrown stones onto his field. And he had not given his dog an "order to attack". In the event of a trial, it will therefore probably be a case of testimony against testimony.
