After the bank robbery at a bank branch in Innsbruck on Wednesday afternoon, there is still no trace of the perpetrator. However, witnesses saw two other suspects in the vicinity of the bank. The investigation is in full swing.
As reported, the stranger entered the bank at around 15.39 on Wednesday. According to the police, he made his way directly to one of the two female employees working in the counter area. "The unknown perpetrator then grabbed the female employee by the shoulder, held her down and demanded - in German with a foreign accent - that she hand over cash," the police said.
The man then searched through drawers in the checkout area. As he was unable to find any cash, he again asked the two women to hand over money. At the same time, another employee, who had heard the noise, came into the room. The perpetrator then fled without any loot.
As reported, the manhunt was unsuccessful. Fortunately, no one was injured. "Psychosocial support for the employees was provided by the KIT team," said the police.
Witness observed suspects
A woolly hat was also found near the scene of the crime. A witness also contacted the investigators. They had seen two men in the vicinity. They were dressed in dark clothing and about 170 centimeters tall. One of them was wearing blue jeans and had red or orange hair and a beard of the same color. Whether there is a connection to the crime is currently under investigation.
