21 new rooms
Hotel renovation lasting several months enters the home straight
The modernization of the "Post am See" hotel in Traunkirchen was on hold for a long time. Work finally got underway in the fall of last year. The 16 million euro project is due to be completed in May. Among other things, 21 new rooms will then be available to guests.
The "Post am See" hotel in Traunkirchen has been closed since the fall. At the beginning of May, the traditional hotel will reopen after a major refurbishment. Hoteliers Monika and Wolfgang Gröller have invested around 16 million euros. They are the third generation to run the hotel. The building was originally an inn and a post office. The 700th anniversary of the building will be celebrated in three years' time.
Initially, the focus is on the reopening of the hotel. There will be 61 rooms instead of the previous 40. Culinary fans will also be spoiled: from the four-toque restaurant Bootshaus by top chef Lukas Nagl in the sister hotel "Das Traunsee" to the tavern cuisine in the "Poststube 1327" and a show kitchen, everything is on offer. "We want to create a place for people who are looking for peace, time out and inspiration," says Wolfgang Gröller, looking forward to welcoming the first guests.
