Eight million euros
Flood protection: work to be completed by summer
Eight million euros are being invested in the Görtschitz to protect residents from flooding.
The expansion of the flood protection construction on the Görtschitz is already in full swing. "We are pleased that the measures are already so far advanced," says Mayor Andreas Grabuschnig. The construction work should be completed by the summer and is therefore almost six months ahead of schedule. The measure was necessary in order to protect the population and their belongings, according to disaster prevention officer Daniel Fellner (SPÖ).
The protective structures will be subsidized to the tune of 225,000 euros this year. As the municipal officer, Fellner is providing 275,000 euros in FC funds outside the framework. A further 50,000 euros in state funding is also available as a subsidy for the renovation of the ice rink. Fellner: "This will make it possible to build an energy-efficient, multifunctional and inter-municipal ice rink." The ice rink-the "Krone" already reported on it-should be completed by the fall.
