League takes action
Charges filed against Lustenau’s Heraf after fan dispute
The penalty senate of the Bundesliga not only punished Rapid on Monday, but also filed a complaint against Lustenau coach Andreas Heraf on suspicion of improper conduct towards players or other persons.
To explain: After the final whistle of the Bundesliga match between Lustenau and Rapid, Heraf's family was apparently harassed by a Hütteldorf fan in the family sector. The 117-time Rapid professional, who had previously been welcomed as a club legend by the Block West, then attacked the spectator and asked him to come down if he dared.
"That's unacceptable for me, but of course it can't happen to me," Heraf told the Krone. But now the league's complaint based on video recordings (see above).
On Monday, the penalty senate also suspended Dominik Frieser (TSV Hartberg) and Pius Grabherr (Austria Lustenau) for one match each following their suspensions at the weekend. Frieser was punished for rough play, Grabherr for preventing a goalscoring opportunity.
