Municipal utilities invest 7.2 million euros this year
The cost of ensuring security of supply for citizens is high. With a turnover of 15 million euros, a minus of 355,000 euros remains.
Investments by the municipality and Stadtwerke Wolfsberg are high this year. Mayor Hannes Primus: "We are investing a total of eleven million euros this year." The municipal utilities, which have budgeted a turnover of EUR 15.2 million this year, also have big plans.
Managing Director Christian Schimik: "We are also affected by the cost dynamics of rising prices." This means that a minus of 355,000 euros has been factored in: "The expenses for the infrastructure in our city are high."
Investments in drinking water
1.5 million euros will be invested in maintenance and 5.7 million in the following projects, among others: 1.7 million will be invested in the expansion of the drinking water pipeline from the Koralpe to the valley. Schimik: "The first section is finished, we'll continue from there." 1.7 kilometers of the eleven-kilometer stretch will be completed this year.
Around 1.5 million will flow into the Klippitz spring area: "A filter system will be installed. This will allow us to remove substances from the water that were previously removed by mixing." 470,000 euros are being invested in the expansion of the Schossbach stream at the Getreidemarkt and half a million in the purchase of an electric truck: "We have already tested the truck in advance."
