Collision on a slope: Twelve-year-old seriously injured

Serious winter sports accident on the Salzstiegl (Voitsberg district) in Styria: on Saturday, a twelve-year-old snowboarder collided with a skier (60) on the piste. The girl was flown to hospital by helicopter. The man escaped with minor injuries.

On Saturday morning, there was a serious accident on a piste in the Salzstiegl ski area in western Styria. A twelve-year-old snowboarder and a 60-year-old skier, both from Styria, collided and fell. According to the police, it is still unclear how this happened. 

Cause unclear
After first aid by the mountain rescue team, the girl was flown by rescue helicopter to the pediatric surgery department at Graz Regional Hospital. The 60-year-old skier was also treated by the mountain rescue team and taken to Voitsberg LKH with minor injuries.
