Teen shoots at car with steel balls
Boredom and youthful recklessness can make for a dangerous mixture. On Friday night, four boys from St. Veit simply drove through the countryside in Carinthia until one of them had an ill-considered idea.
Whether due to a lack of alternatives or perhaps finances - four young lads apparently didn't know what to do with themselves on Friday night. "The four 17-year-olds from St. Veit met in a public parking lot at around 9.30 pm and decided to drive around together in two cars with no particular destination," the police report. "There were two teenagers in each car."
Shot with a softgun pistol
At a parking lot in the village of Hoch-Liebenfels, one of the boys in the rear car had a "flash of inspiration". Using a softgun pistol, he fired steel bullets several times at the rear window of the front car, damaging it completely. The reason? "He wanted to get his friend in the front car to stop," according to the police. The owner of the car then reported the incident to the police.
No injuries
Fortunately, nobody was injured as a result of this stupidity. Thanks to Austria's relatively strict gun laws, such lads "only" have access to softgun weapons and, as in this case, only illegally. It's hard to imagine what could have happened otherwise. The reckless shooter will now be charged with damage to property and his weapon was seized.
