Dog was a victim of the flames in a major fire

Seven fire departments with 130 members were deployed in Unterfrauenhaid (Burgenland). No people were harmed and three dogs were rescued. However, all help came too late for the fourth four-legged friend.

Fortunately, no people were injured in the flaming inferno and the two owners of the house were able to escape outside in time. One of the four dogs was left behind, for whom all help came too late, according to incident commander Peter Rathmanner from the Unterfrauenhaid fire department.

The Florianis were alerted at 1.45 a.m. on Saturday morning. A total of seven fire departments with 130 members arrived and began the difficult extinguishing work, which lasted until 6 o'clock in the morning. A fire watch was kept on Saturday morning. "The damage to the house is considerable," says Rathmanner. "It is currently uninhabitable and it is not advisable to enter the building because the fire department believes it is in danger of collapsing."

We can only speculate about the cause of the fire for the time being. According to the incident commander, a closer examination of the building has been initiated.
