“Coke nose” caught at the border: continue on foot

The snow on which we all drive downhill, to quote Falco: On Thursday, it was the undoing of a 53-year-old driver at the Weigetschlag border crossing. The well-known "cokehead" had consumed cocaine and his driver's license was no longer valid.

On Thursday at 5.40 pm, a police patrol (AGM) carried out border controls at the border crossing in Weigetschlag on the B126. A car coming from the Czech Republic and traveling in the direction of Bad Leonfelden was stopped. During the check, the 53-year-old driver from the Vöcklabruck district presented his driver's license to the officers. 

Expired since August
It was found that all driving licenses had expired since the end of August 2024. The driver stated that his driver's license had been taken away from him during the Christmas period in 2023 due to drug use. However, he was still allowed to use it for a limited period. 

Cocaine was positive
A voluntary rapid test was positive for cocaine. A breathalyzer test was negative. During the clinical examination, the driver was found to be unfit to drive. He was prohibited from continuing to drive and his driver's license was temporarily confiscated. Charges will follow.
