Outdoor pool defuses entrance area

The Rheinauen parking lot is to become safer for everyone in future. In addition to a number of measures to make it safer, a professional traffic concept is also being developed. 

The Rheinauen facility is one of the most popular outdoor pools in Vorarlberg. On hot days, the crowds are of course particularly large. In the past, the high number of visitors has repeatedly led to bottlenecks and conflict situations in the entrance area, where the paths of cars, cyclists, pedestrians and even buses cross. An unsatisfactory and dangerous situation that is now finally to be defused. The relevant departments of the municipalities of Hohenems and Altach as well as those responsible for the Rheinauen have put their heads together and worked on a solution. This now provides for some mitigation measures:

-To indicate potential conflict situations, yellow markings will be placed in the relevant access areas and in the entrance area.

-Flexible partitions will create a separation between cyclists, pedestrians and motorists. A guidance service will support parking. A guidance system will be installed in the entrance area to improve visibility.

In addition, a planning office has been commissioned to draw up a suitable traffic concept. This is to be presented by this summer.
