No unity? Tuchel cheers with the team

Isn't this how you imagine a unit consisting of players and coach? Considering that Thomas Tuchel has been accused of not being able to reach his (Bayern) team for months, a photo of him celebrating in the dressing room after advancing to the Champions League semi-finals suggests astonishing harmony.

It's true that a photo should not be overrated; it's also true that hardly any funeral melodies will be intoned after a victory that brings promotion. On the other hand, the coach doesn't have to pose demonstratively with his team for social media. And the team wouldn't have to pose with him. And Bayern wouldn't have to post it. Nor would Thomas Müller.

But a connection to the team?
Bild even wants to see the coach "ecstatic". In fact, it seems as if Tuchel still has a functioning connection to the team. Which he has been denied for months.

"A little hypocritical"
Tuchel was asked by Bild after the game whether he felt any satisfaction. His reply: The question was "a little hypocritical." After all, it was the media who were hitting him with it. However, he did not want to place too much value on the media and their assessment. "You have to know how to deal with it, not me," said Tuchel to the journalists.

The fact is: Tuchel has taken Bayern - after PSG and Chelsea - to the Champions League semi-finals as coach for the third time. "Being one of the top four teams in Europe again means a lot to me. The semi-final is an important step," said the still-Bayern coach. After a "bit of a chess match" before the break, his team presented themselves "extremely strongly" in the second half.
