On April 20, Mansur Elsaev will step into the ring to fight for the European light heavyweight title. In the krone.tv sports talk with Martin Grasl, the Chechen-born fighter talks about his intensive preparation and the mental component of boxing. One thing is clear to him: "I want to win the title for Austria". The 33-year-old also talks about his integration in Austria, his role as a "golden boy" and the positive aspects of boxing.

French challenger Mickael Diallo cancels immediately during the intensive preparations. "He says he's broken his hand. I say he's scared," smiles Mansur Elsaev, who now has to prepare for a completely different type of fighter in Carlos Lamela. Trainer Isaak Kosashvili has worked with his protégé since his professional career and describes his new opponent as having Cuban roots. "He's a head taller, light on his feet and uses the whole ring. But Mansur will become European champion because he wants to," says the coach with conviction.

Mansur Elsaev first became interested in boxing in 2004. Back then, he came to Austria at a young age with his mother and brother. "I only went to watch briefly with a friend and then I liked it," he recalls. With the right attitude, he gained respect among the European elite and won all 18 professional fights (16 times by knockout). The 19th strike is to follow on Saturday in order to reach for higher goals afterwards. Watch the entire interview with Mansur Elsaev in the video!
