From kicker to farmer
“I don’t think you’re allowed to shit yourself today”
Josef Pross is firmly established in life and knows what he wants. Last summer, the then 21-year-old made the decision: No to professional soccer and yes to the family farm. The former Young Violets player is currently shining in the Lower Austrian regional league, where he is on the hunt for goals for SV Gloggnitz. In the fan.at soccer talk with Martin Grasl, the Lower Austrian talks about the background to his retirement from the professional game and life decisions. "I don't think you can give a shit about anything these days," sums up Pross, who has found the fun in football again.
Having fun in life
Josef Pross' dream was always to become a professional footballer. In recent years, however, he has realized that he wants to have more fun in life and, above all, free time. Returning home is certainly a change, but definitely the right decision. "You can't listen to too many people, otherwise there's too much pressure behind it. Everyone has to do what they want," Pross also encourages other kickers.
I like that a lot better.

Feeding cows instead of training
The daily routine has also changed: instead of morning training, the cows are fed in the morning. "I like that better," grins the goal scoring leader in the Lower Austrian regional league. He would like to achieve promotion to the regional league with SV Gloggnitz. There he could be reunited with his old colleagues at the Verteilerkreis next season.
