Festival starts this year with Pongau artists
"Summer.freshness.art" and alpine art fair as highlights of the summer in Bad Gastein. From June 22, the focus will be on regional artists in the old power station
"Show your Art " is the motto of this year's "Sommer.Frische.Kunst" festival in Bad Gastein, which aims to showcase local artists. For the first time, regional artists will have the opportunity to present their works at the art festival in the old power station. The weekend around June 22 will be dedicated to young artists from Pongau.
Contemporary painting, sculpture, installations or photography - almost anything is possible. Festival curator Andrea von Goetz and the Kur- und Tourismusverband are looking for Pongau artists who would like to present their art in the exhibition rooms at the Kraftwerk. The art fair and festival will follow on July 12.
Fictitious flags
Sommer.Frische.Kunst" has been a fixture on the art scene for 14 years now. The highlights of this year's edition are the masterclasses by young artists from the universities of Vienna and Munich and the "raising flags" art project.
The fictitious state flag project already caused a sensation in Vienna last year. In cooperation with the Trakl House in Salzburg, the "Stammtisch für alle" project is being implemented: experts and amateurs discuss the importance of farmhouses as a social meeting place.

Pongau artists have until June 3, 2024 to apply to take part: whether you have paintings, sculptures, installations or photography, please send your application with a short cover letter about yourself and your artistic work (including images) to: sfk@gastein.com
