ÖVP politician warns:
Countries would outbid each other on doctors’ salaries
It's about perfect medical care for citizens! ÖVP health spokesperson Dinhobl is against the provinces outbidding each other when it comes to doctors' salaries.
"When it comes to the healthcare system in Lower Austria, two things are currently of particular importance", explains ÖVP health spokesperson Franz Dinhobl. On the one hand, the recruitment of suitable staff in the hospitals. Dinhobl adds: "This also includes the need for a uniform nationwide solution when it comes to doctors' salaries. Because if the federal states are constantly competing with each other over who pays doctors more money, it will soon be impossible to finance our system."

At the same time, the private practice sector needs to be strengthened in order to relieve the burden on hospitals in the long term. "This is where the health insurance fund is called upon to make practice positions so attractive that they are accepted by doctors. Otherwise, there will be more and more elective doctors' practices that do not serve primary care," says the ÖVP politician. Comprehensive on-call services at weekends are also necessary.
Relief for hospital outpatient clinics
Together with the primary care centers, doctors in private practice should ensure with their healthcare services that hospital outpatient clinics are massively relieved. Dinhobl concludes: "It is the responsibility of the health insurance fund and the Medical Association to create suitable framework conditions."
