Erling Haaland realizes: “The quality is dropping!”

Erling Haaland has already made 34 appearances for Manchester City this season, as well as several appearances for the Norwegian national team. This has left its mark, the 23-year-old has to admit: "The problem isn't the games, it's the quality. The quality is dropping!"

The striker wants to make it clear that he is only human. "You can't expect me to play 70 games with over 1,000 meters of sprinting per game," says the exceptional kicker. In the end, the numerous outings just add up to a few meters, says Haaland. "What am I supposed to do? I just have to follow the game plan."

On Friday evening, Norway's national team will host the Czech Republic, followed four days later by a visit from Slovakia. "It's nice to play for your country," says the striker, "but it's different when you're playing at home against Arsenal next weekend." 

At least Haaland will have a few weeks off during the European Championship in Germany. The goalscorer will finally be able to relax a little, even though he thinks it's "obviously stupid" not to be there.
