Club condemns action
Hateful posters by Rapid fans: prosecutors active!
After posters were put up with the likenesses and names of the eight members of the Bundesliga criminal senate, a statement of facts has been sent to the Vienna public prosecutor's office for criminal investigation!
This was announced by the Vienna police on Tuesday upon request. The incident is known to the authorities and the posters are believed to have been put up by unknown persons the night before the league match between Rapid and LASK last Friday.
Rapid appeal to "refrain from such actions"!
The Bundesliga and ÖFB condemned the incident "in the strongest terms". Rapid distanced itself from the action - "without knowing the authorship" - and appealed to everyone to "refrain from such actions, which can ultimately also damage the reputation of SK Rapid".
Following the 3:0 derby win against Austria at the end of February, Hütteldorf officials and players had attracted attention and been banned for abusive and sometimes homophobic chants against their city rivals.
