Driver has guardian angel
Liquid latex leaked after horror accident
A tanker crashed on the A2 in Lower Austria between Wiener Neustadt and the Seebenstein junction on Monday morning, flipped onto its side and immediately caught fire. Three fire departments were deployed to fight the flames. Latex leaked from the tanker as a result of the accident.
The tanker on fire claimed the lives of three fire departments. The driver of the heavy goods vehicle had a thousand guardian angels and was rescued before the vehicle started to burn. "How the accident occurred is currently the subject of a police investigation," said a fire department spokesperson to the "Krone".
Liquid latex leaked out
The Breitenau, Aspern and Neunkirchen fire departments are still on site with large fire engines. The fire was extinguished, but something else kept the emergency services on their toes: latex milk - liquid latex - that had leaked from the tanker as a result of the accident. "This will take some time," said the fire department spokesperson.
The accident led to a temporary closure of the Südautobahn between Wiener Neustadt and Seebenstein.
According to Marc Römer from the ÖAMTC, the Graz lane was affected. The recommendation was issued to take the B17. Subsequently, one lane of the A2 was reopened, the spokesman said.
