Lavanttaler falls to his death while working in the forest

A tragic accident occurred on Tuesday morning in the district of Wolfsberg in Carinthia. A 66-year-old man was hit by a tree and fell to his death.

The 66-year-old was working in his forest when he was hit while cutting down a spruce tree and fell about four meters over a cliff edge.

It was not until hours later, when he did not show up for lunch, that the 66-year-old's wife went looking for her husband. She was only able to find the 66-year-old lifeless at the scene of the accident. "He had suffered fatal injuries in the fall", according to the police.
