Crashed ORF man back at the start on the Bergisel

Yesterday's big scare, today he was already back at the start: ORF camera jumper Maximilian Lienher was back "on duty" at the Bergisel ski jump in Innsbruck on Saturday after his fall on Friday.

Of course, the fall on Friday in the qualifying round had already left its mark. Lienher "shone" with a few minor injuries, abrasions on his face. "But it's not so bad," explained the 25-year-old, still sitting on the bakken: "The rest of my body coped well with the fall. And now we're going to do a relaxed jump."

"Safety jump"
He said, pushed off, threw himself down the inrun and indeed delivered the loose jump he had announced. On the way out, he said he had completed a "safety jump". So he was in no way deterred.

And his findings? The ski jump was in perfect condition, "even better than yesterday".

"I'd rather not do it again"
On Friday, Lienher's center of gravity was too far forward when he landed, causing him to lose control and perform a wild belly flip. Lienher himself, who ended his active career a year and a half ago, seems to be taking his crash on the Bergisel relatively lightly. He posted a video of the fall on Instagram and commented on the scenes with: "It hurts a bit, I'd rather not do it again!" He actually didn't on Saturday. Thank goodness.
