No abuse proven at Neustifter Kirtag

Following the report of an alleged sexual offense at the Neustifter Kirtag, the investigation by the Vienna police has been dropped. Last week, it was reported that an unknown man had dragged an 18-year-old Viennese girl into a side alley and raped her there. However, this has since turned out to be untrue.

The young woman had been at the Kirtag with a friend from Lower Austria, whom she is said to have told about the alleged rape on the spot. The two young women then contacted members of the emergency services and police officers, who looked after them, recorded the complaint and took them to hospital.

At the hospital, the Viennese woman was also examined for signs of possible rape.

According to the police, the suspicion was not confirmed. They have now reported the case to the Vienna Public Prosecutor's Office after final investigations. "Unless the public prosecutor's office orders otherwise", the investigation into the case is therefore closed.
